Recently, La Finca Del Sur members attended the 26th Annual NOFA Massachusetts Winter Conference at the beautiful Worcester State University on January 12, 2013.
The NOFA Mass organizers welcome all who care about food, where it comes from and how it is grown. The educational offerings expanded into new territory this year. They were informative, inspiring and left us all with a desire to expand our farming and gardening ideas.
The Keynote Speaker, our own Karen Washington enlightened many to the struggles and most importantly the triumphs taking place here in the Bronx at our Community Farms and Gardens.

With three different sessions throughout the day, ranging from Farm Acquisition and Management Skills, to Organic Soil, Land Care and Gardening, to Farm and Food Policy, Education, and Community Initiatives, each packed with so many interesting seminars, it was not easy to choose just one seminar, and there was something to spark each one of our strengths and interest.
We are grateful to have been able to attend and bring back the education to our Farmers. We have much to share and look forward to doing so this season through our blog and events at the farm.
Thanks again to all who made it, and to all who didn't please be encouraged by the upcoming knowledge we gained to help La Finca have an even better season in 2013.
